The Mike Emmerson Young Investigator’s Award
Applications are invited for The Mike Emmerson Young Investigator’s Award.
Professor Emmerson was an inspiring teacher and encouraged many young doctors, nurses and other health care professionals to become involved in the science and practice of infection control. This award is specifically aimed at encouraging trainees to become involved in the major issues of healthcare acquired infection which are just as much a problem in hospitals today as they were in the past and are now increasingly seen in community settings.
This award is open to medical microbiologists in non-tenured posts and nurses, clinical scientists or biomedical scientists of Band 6 or below who wish to carry out original investigations on topics relating to hospital acquired infection.
The grants will be available for sum up to £10,000 and will be awarded annually; closing date for all applications is 1st February.
