Dr E Joan Stokes
Dr E Joan Stokes, died peacefully on Friday 29th January, aged 97 years.
Dr Stokes was a pioneer in hospital infection control, along with Lowbury, Ayliffe et al and her appointment meant University College Hospital, London had the second infection control nurse ever!
Dr Stokes will be remembered with great fondness and sadly missed by all who knew her, and our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends at this sad time.
The funeral will be held at Reading Crematorium (Caversham) on Monday 8th February at 13.30.
