Spring Meeting 2018 - Outbreaks

The Healthcare Infection Society is pleased to announce the 2018 Spring Meeting which will be on ‘Outbreaks’.

Non- members can join the Society to be immediately eligible for the member registration rate.

Posters and Oral Presentations

Attendees are invited to submit abstracts for presentation during the meeting as either a poster or oral communication.  Abstracts of up to 250 words should be submitted as a Word document attachment by email to admin@his.org.uk

The deadline for submission of abstracts is Wednesday 21 March and authors will be contacted to confirm presentations by Friday 13 April. 

Submissions should include the abstract title, names of all authors indicating the presenting author and an abstract of up to 250 words.  Authors should indicate their preference for poster or oral presentation.  Presenting authors will be required to register and pay to attend the meeting.

Travel Grants

HIS Members are eligible to apply for Travel Grants of up to £750 to support attendance at the Spring Meeting.  Eligibility commences with immediate effect upon joining the Society.

Travel Grants are awarded at the discretion of the Society and are primarily intended to enable HIS Trainees to attend meetings of educational benefit, particularly if work is to be presented, They are generally awarded to individuals who have abstracts accepted for oral or poster presentation.

HIS will also consider applications from more senior HIS Members, including consultants, providing adequate justification is provided on the application form.

Applications can be submitted at any time throught the year by completeing the application form on the Travel Grants webpage.

Cancellation or non-attendance

Cancellations will be accepted in writing by email to admin@his.org.uk up to 7 days prior to the event and the registration fee will be refunded in full.  Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the event or for delegates who do not attend on the day. 

Certificate of Attendance

A Certificate of Attendance will be provided after the event.
