The Healthcare Infection Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kay Miller as Executive Director.
Kay was previously Development Director and co-CEO at the Dr Hadwen Trust, a medical research charity. Prior to this Kay was a senior manager at the Biochemical Society where she lead the development of the Society’s events programme and member recruitment and engagement. Kay took up her post at HIS on 6th February 2017. Kay is a Chartered Manager, has a PhD in plant physiology and four years post-doctoral research experience.
Kay said of her appointment: "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Healthcare Infection Society at such a pivotal time. The Board have an ambitious and achievable strategy that seeks to support healthcare professionals to overcome the challenges they face when striving to prevent and control HCAIs. It is unusual to see a charity that has such clear public benefit, and I look forward to being part of the Society’s success story.”
