Live debate - Water-free healthcare: solution or risk?
The Society is inviting speakers to join a live lunchtime debate on 2 October exploring the future of water use in healthcare environments.
Growing awareness around the infection risks associated with healthcare water systems has prompted vigorous debate about “water-free” design. Advocates argue it offers benefits for infection prevention, sustainability, and cost efficiency. Others raise concerns about practicality, unintended consequences and whether better-managed water systems offer a safer path forward.
We’re looking for speakers who can contribute to a balanced and informed debate, including:
- Supporters of water-free or water-safe healthcare design
- Those who advocate for improved water management over water-free alternatives
If you have evidence, insights or strong opinions to share from research, clinical practice, design or operations, we want to hear from you.
To express your interest in speaking, please contact admin@his.org.uk with a short outline (max. 200 words) of your argument and experience by 26 August.
