Call for Expressions of Interest: IPC workforce planning and development

The Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) is seeking members who are interested in contributing to its activities in advocating for and promoting the IPC workforce. This includes collaborating with partner organisations and ensuring IPC remains at the forefront of workforce policy and planning.
The IPC workforce is multidisciplinary at its core. It includes medical microbiologists and virologists, infectious diseases physicians, infection control doctors and specialist nurses, antimicrobial pharmacists, Biomedical Scientists, and Clinical Scientists, all of whom are central to delivering a high-quality service. At a time when Infectious diseases and global trends of increasing AMR present an escalating challenge to the UK health system, a robust, sustainable, specialist workforce is essential to prevent avoidable infections in healthcare, safeguard the public, and ensure health system resilience.
