HIS members have been invited to take part in technical engagement on the National Estates Technical Bulletin (NETB) titled ‘High-pressure Water Mist Systems in Healthcare Premises’.

The objectives of this NETB are:

1. To identify measures and procedures for consideration regarding the provision of high pressure water mist systems in healthcare premises.
2. To enhance existing guidance in HTM 05-02: Guidance in support of functional provisions (Fire safety in the design of healthcare premises).

The aim of the document is to consider the suitability, and provide guidance where appropriate, for the provision of water mist systems in certain circumstances within healthcare buildings. Please find the technical document below.

We would be grateful if the completed spreadsheet could be returned by 11:30am on Thursday 6 August 2026 to help us collate it with other HIS member responses to the NHS England Technical Standards and Guidance team.
