Welcome Our New Editor-in-Chief for the JHI, Martyn Wilkinson
We are delighted to announce that Dr Martyn Wilkinson has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hospital Infection (JHI).
Martyn will start his tenure of three years on the Journal on 1 September 2025.

Martyn is a Biomedical Statistician at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, and brings a wealth of expertise in statistical analysis, infection control research and practice, and a deep commitment to advancing high-quality scientific research. With an extensive background as an editor, Martyn joined the JHI in 2020, and has been an active contributor to journal as an author for many years.

As Editor-in-Chief, Dr Martyn will guide the journal in fostering rigorous, innovative research and strengthening our engagement with readers, authors, and reviewers worldwide. 

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr Nik Mahida, who steps down from the role after twelve years with the JHI. Thanks you to Nik for his dedicated leadership and invaluable contributions to the journal during his tenure.
