What infection control is effective in the ICU?

I will take a healthily sceptical approach to infection control in the ICU highlighting the lack of a strong evidence base and the consequent degree of highly variable practices. I will point out inconsistencies, an excessive reliance on dogma with examples of harm directly accruing, and clever misrepresentations by evangelists. And I’m prepared for lively debate!
