The GENOTIPE SIG has been established to provide a national multidisciplinary hub for translating pathogen genomics into IPC practice. This inaugural meeting will bring together the wider GENOTIPE community to reflect on where the network has come from, consider where it should go next and, importantly, explore how members can become actively involved.
The programme will briefly describe the development of GENOTIPE from its original national stakeholder network, including the collaborative work that led to the national implementation roadmap and establishment of the Special Interest Group. A short presentation will consider the major remaining challenges to implementing pathogen genomics in routine healthcare.
The meeting will also showcase short contributions from GENOTIPE members describing work underway, emerging ideas, implementation challenges or opportunities where collaboration could help. Interactive polling and questions will be used to understand what members want from GENOTIPE, identify expertise and areas of interest across the network, and explore potential future activities. The meeting will conclude by explaining how the SIG will operate and the different ways members can contribute through the steering committee, working groups, collaborative projects and the wider network.
