Abstract submissions

Do you have a project or piece of work that you would like to share with your peers?  Submitting an abstract at conference is an excellent way to communicate the outcomes of your project.

Abstract submissions covering all aspects of infection prevention in the built environment are welcome for Building Safer Hospitals 2026. This year's conference will feature a poster exhibition. The closing date for abstracts is Friday 10th July (17:00 BST).  To submit your abstract, please click on the link below.

Guidance for submitters

• All abstracts must be limited to a maximum of 250 words (excluding title and author information)
• You must obtain permission from all authors before submitting an abstract
• For all accepted abstracts the presenting author must register and pay to attend the conference to present their work.

Poster presentations

• If your abstract is accepted for poster presentation, you will be required to submit a PDF version of your poster for the digital poster book and produce an A0 size portrait poster to display at the conference.
• All poster abstract presenters are required to attend the event in-person.
