Dr Lucy Brodie
'I am a speciality registrar in infectious diseases and medical microbiology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and I am currently undertaking an out of programme experience as clinical research fellow. In May 2026, I started my role as BIA trainee meetings secretary.'

Dr Simon Pybus, Consultant Microbiologist, Golden Jubilee National Hospital
Simon Pybus is a recently appointed Consultant Microbiologist at NHS Golden Jubilee. He did specialty training in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology in the West of Scotland and had a year out of programme undertaking the Graham Ayliffe Training Fellowship funded by the Healthcare Infection Society. His fellowship year was based at NHS Scotland Assure and ARHAI Scotland, working on infection prevention related to the healthcare built environment. He completed early medical training in Liverpool.

Dr Nick Power, Consultant at St James's Hospital, Dublin & Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, Trinity College Dublin
Nick Power works as a consultant at St. James's Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. He previously served on the Trainee Association of ESCMID Steering Committee 2020-2024 where he held the roles of Education Officer, Secretary and Scientific Affairs Officer. His research interests include medical education, aspergillus and sepsis.
Iyiola Oladunjoye, DPhil Researcher in Clinical Medicine, University of Oxford
Iyiola Oladunjoye is a DPhil researcher in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford and a member of St Cross College.
He is completing a British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC) Parliamentary Internship with Dr Beccy Cooper MP, supporting the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). During the placement he has contributed to parliamentary roundtables on AMR, including a session on infection prevention as part of cancer care.
A vaccine scientist by background, he holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in International Vaccinology, studied across five universities in Spain, Belgium and France, and previously worked at the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) on preclinical and early-phase vaccine development, including a first-in-human Phase 1 Marburg vaccine trial. He is an elected Member of the Royal Society of Biology and co-founder of the Triad Institute for Health Research and Development in Nigeria.
Isobel Ramsey, Cambridge University NHS Hospitals Trust
"I'm Isobel, a final year trainee in Infectious Diseases and medical microbiology in Cambridge. I spent 4 years as the medical microbiology rep to the RCPath trainee advisory committee, sitting on a number of training committees for both core infection training and medical microbiology. I am also now part of the RCPath Infection Part 1 exam development group."
