The future of the HIS/UKHSA Foundation Course – 2023 and beyond

HIS and UKHSA are currently redeveloping the traditional 5-day Foundation Course for Autumn 2023. The new course will be delivered as 5 modules in a blended learning format (which will include live Q&A/workshop elements and online assessments) within a new online e-Learning platform.

Registration and fees for the new course will be announced in July 2023 and those on the interest list will be contacted at that point.  

Modules covered in the course will be:

Basics in IPC

Pathogen-based approach to IPC

IPC in the built environment

Principles of surveillance and stewardship

Leadership and managing change

Each of the 5 modules will combine on-demand presentations covering 8-10 topics per modules; additional pre- or post-learning resources, such as links to additional information or suggested applied-learning tasks; multiple-choice questions for summative assessments; live panel Q&A sessions and live workshops.
